Backyard Rides was founded by Matt Vangalis in April 2022 and continues to operate with the mission of giving back to the community. If you'd like to volunteer please reach out as there is always work to be done and not enough hours in the day.

The concept behind tandem bike rides for the blind started one day while Matt was biking in the Everglades. Matt developed "Backyard Rides" as a way to share his vision while offering services that would give back to the community.

Backyard Rides is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and mental health purposes under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to help improve the lives of others within the community tandem bike rides for the blind and garden harvest donations.
