Be My Eyes is an app used for the visually impaired. It got me thinking about the things sighted people take for granted, like riding a bike. While biking through the Everglades in Florida I got the urge to share my biking experience of sounds, smells and wind in my face with someone who couldn't see. Backyard Rides is working with several public service organizations that offer resources for the blind. If you know of anyone that would a possible condiate, please let us know!
This year we were able to make dozens of food donations to the elderly and families in need. Our Home assisted living facility & Hamilton Villa received vegetable donations throughout the summer. We plan to continue our garden harvest program next summer and are always looking for volunteers to help with planting, weeding, watering and harvesting of vegetables.
