Be My Eyes is an app used for the visually impaired. It got me thinking about the things sighted people take for granted, like riding a bike. While biking through the Everglades in Florida I got the urge to share my biking experience of sounds, smells and wind in my face with someone who couldn't see. Backyard Rides is working with several public service organizations that offer resources for the blind. If you know of anyone that would a possible condiate, please let us know!
It's been awhile since I've updated the website and I thought it was time to let you know what's been happening. Due to the lack of volunteers and limited time, we were unable to plant a garden this year and vegetable donations are currently paused. We will continue to make food donation by working with area farmers, but we'd also like to re-think how BYR can continue to help the community with limited volunteers. We are currently working with other non-profit agencies in the area to try and combine resources to help serve the community. If you're interested in volunterring with NEXT year's garden... PLEASE REACH OUT!
